The team brass might bite their knuckles 'til they bleed, but in the end I don't think they'd have any choice but to let Rubinho take the title.
Of course, we are dealing with F1 here, aren't we? |

Apparently Luca agrees with us - as he has either changed his tune, sobered up, or effectively said 'I was misquoted' (which in Prost's case always meant 'I got a shedload of grief for what I said, so I am unsaying it now, thank you.')
P.S. I'm going to call Eddie Irvine "Johnny Bravo." His attitude and the ugly haircut are perfect for the part. |

Just coming back to the thread.
If RB puts in another mediocre performance like yesterday, we won't need to consider the "will they, won't they" problem. BTW. He wasn't the only one to send me to sleep. I wouldn't make excuses for him though because as the "brilliant" winner at Hackenheim, he should have been up for the battle yesterday. Instead he appeared to give up just like most of this season. |

Okay, Rubens bashers how about this: Ross B. said the Ferraris were just not fast enough on the track in Hungary. Ferraris, PLURAL. Two cars were not fast enough.
The other part was that Rubens was suffering from heat exhaustion as his water bottle gave out halfway through a very very hot race. I suppose all you Iron Men and Women could have overcome those obstacles and won the race. Personally I think overcoming those obstacles and coming in fourth is pretty darned good. |

I don't know, Liz. In 1973 at the Belgian GP, Chris Amon brought a TECHNO home in sixth and had to be hauled unconcious from the car. Nobody made a big deal out of that, even though I thought he deserved a medal.

But that was back when Keke showed up drunk and won races.
Today's boys are not up to heroics like that. |

Liz,
No excuses. He either puts up or shuts up. He's had the same opportunity (if you believe Ross B, which people seem to be doing - selectively) as MS. He's proved to me and a few others on this board that he isn't as good as his pre season PR suggested. He's got a long history in F1 and now that he's in a front running car he's showing sporadic ability, just like before but more pronounced because of the car. The drinks thing is pretty lame. I'm not an iron man but hey, this guy is paid to endure whatever and get results. His qualifying was lame and his race was poor. |

I agree - race after race Rubens has done NOTHING in that Ferrari, finishing 4th by virtue of his car's speed over that of the Jordans, BARs, Benettons and Williams etc...
Ok, so at Silverstone he showed us how good he can be. And Hockenheim was a great drive. But Frentzen's and Button's were far far more impressive given the equipment they were in. Rubens needs to pull his socks up. NOW. |
