AiM Evo4 Installation Question...

I am installing an Evo4 in my Formula Ford. Breaking the golden rules of RTFM and measure twice, cut once I have mounted the logger in an orientation not illustrated in the accelerometer wizard. It's mounted plugs facing front of car, LED at top, speed plug at bottom. (portrait)

If the configuration set-up would let me set the acceleration parameters manually I'm sure it would work. But when you try to edit these channels it always goes to the accel wizzard.

The simple solution is to move to another location with supported orientation, but this current position is just perfect in my tight little cockpit.

I've sent this question to Aim tech support, but figured it would be worth running by you guys as well.

Fingers crossed!

You could cheat, and rename lateral g to longitudinal g, and vice versa?

I want to cheat! But you can't change them. The software automatically starts the wizard...

I ran out of patience and 3 hours ago made a bracket and moved it to a location which is supported. Not as cool as the 'illegal' position, but does have some benefits...

I just tried it, and was able to rename the channels. Not the drop down box that chooses the internal channel, but the name - e.g. ACCEL_LAT or ECU_OIL_T etc. Then in Analysis you simply choose the correct one. Track mapping shouldn't be an issue as it'll use the GPS signal.
