Sort of a tyre economy run crossed with a lottery really.

a solid 7 for me. actually found myself enjoying the 2 DRS zones being so close to each other. it wasnt like that last year was it?
i suppose you can say it gave too much advantage but Alonso couldnt use it to get passed Massa so i think they found the right balance for DRS this year. some nice moves on the outside of turn 13 as well. |

I gave it a 7. I would have given it less than that, but it would have been purely on the basis of poor performances from Williams & McLaren; I'm grown up enough to factor that out.
In the run up to the weekend I really wasn't at all bothered about the race, but I put that down to jetlag. |

Bearing in mind I've only seen the highlights so I'm not the best person to judge (don't you dare quote me on that). But frankly, I haven't seen cars sliding like that since the seventies! I really disagree with the tyre, KERS and DRS thing, but if we see drivers trying as hard as that, all the way throughout the field then pass me some ketchup to go with this crow.
I know some thought it was boring and I got some BBM messages saying just that yesterday. However for me it was like stepping back in time. I just checked in the mirror to see if I had hair! (Sadly a failure there). And I doubt if I will fit that old pair of flares too. Great race, good tactics, great coverage. Get's an 8 because I just know things will get better. |

A 7. A pretty solid race. The low temperatures mixed things up. Good that a Red Bull didn't dominate again. It was also good seeing a Ferrari, Force India and Lotus mix it up for the lead. A few decent overtakes as well(Kimi on Hamilton and Vettel's gung-ho attempt - oh sorry, I forgot - he can't overtake! ).

8. The tyres made sure that the race wasn't won in the first few laps, and that there was at least some racing to watch.

All in all I thought it was a good start to the season.

Gave it a 7. Kimi popping in a fastest lap on 20 lap old tyres with a couple of laps to go maybe shows that the ntyre issues can be driven around...and he nearly smiled
Some interesting drives and amazed that everyone got round that first corner! I might have rated it higher if I hadn't tried to check the qualy times before the raceand managed to see that Kimi had won..... |

Eight out of ten.
I enjoyed it a lot. The Hamilton and Alonso battle was good, there was some close competition, nice outbreaking and a fantastically high standard of good, close racing. Well done to them for that. Good to see. |

That will be partly be accounted for by the highlights factor. They didn't run down the stops and gaps enough (or show those bits anyway). That said, Ben Edwards is a mighty fine commentator, really good, and David's fine as well (although he does have an intonation when he speaks which makes him sound worried about everything he says; has anyone else noticed this?).

I fell asleep a few minutes before the start, but generally 10 out of 10, Webber in his home race, commanding performance. Aussies love the under dog.
