It looks like a new concorde agreement is some way off by what has been happening over the last couple of days. Bernie the teams and the FIA have still to agree things and I also saw a report that 2 teams have not yet been offered a deal by Bernie.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/103643

They will probably all sign up on the grid in Melbourne if that.

Yes, there are still some teams that are questioning this latest statement by the FIA. The response that the FIA and the commercial rights holders should give to any doubts about the new concorde agreement, has to be a short and decisive 'Deal with it!'.

Do you know how much time and effort and resources a tax audit takes?

Just institute "claimer rules" and a price on every bit of the car!
Far cheaper and easier to control. Front wing $ 50 000, rear wing $ 30 000, wheel and upright $ 20 000 etc.

That should stop the nonsense!
Great way to encourage the export of our entire F1 industry to China imho....

MotoGP operates a 'claiming rule' system on some of its bikes (CRT category). Wouldn't it be great if Red Bull built a front wing costing a total of 3 million dollars that a team would then be able to buy for 50,000 dollars after a certain period of time.

Which is why the "Resource restriction agreement" is fatally flawed imho.

I can only see bad things happening. I'm all for equality of opportunity and I want the cream to rise to the top but can you imagine what the very clever people in F1 teams will come up with to get around this sort of rule?"

Subsidiary companies located in low cost but high tech economies like China would make a complete nonsense of this. How much would an IPad mini cost if it were made in Paulo Alto instead of China?

Bonkers....:

More Cost Cutting from the FIA related to entry fees.

Probably deserves a thread of its own ....

It looks like a new agreement is almost ready to be signed according to Jean Todt.

http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/104072

If this is correct then it will be a surprise as these things are usually not done until 11:59 P.M.

Are we shortly going to see white smoke on a new concorde agreement? Bernie and Jean Todt are reported to have agreed terms.

The FIA and FOM have signed the new concorde agreement to run until 2020. It appears that all that is needed now is for all the teams to sign up for the deal to be completed.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/110163

How longs did that take?
