James Hunt Biography
Hi all,
Partly inspired by seeing RUSH recently I'm looking to pick up a biography of James Hunt. According to the rankings on a popular online retailer the one by Gerald Donaldson seems to be rated highly but was wondering if anyone on here had experience of this or any of the others that are out there. |

I have read this one a few times and would recommend it highly. Gerald Donaldson and Christopher Hilton are 2 that I have found you cant go too wrong with.
Tom Rubython books on the other hand I have never actually managed to finish which says quite a lot. |

The Gerald Donaldson book is by far the best (he also wrote an equally fine Gilles Villeneuve biography).
Never buy a Rubython book. |

Never buy a Rubython book.[/QUOTE]
I bought his "Senna" magnum opus and managed to wade through some of it. Gerald Donaldson's book on Gilles is fantastic and could not be be more different.. Dry Chalk and Lovely tasty Cheese sums it up for me! |

Woldnt touch Rubython with a bargepole
Mainly coz once I was looking for a bit of freelance work and saw a job about motorsport, turned out to be doing research for this book, and mainly digging up dirt! I didn't do the job but did some digging and this guy seems to be a bit of a strange character! Donaldson on the other hand is excellent, good writer, understand what you the reader want and james is an excellent subject obviously! |
