CSCC Classic K reborn - Sunday 20th Oct at Snetterton
The reborn CSCC Classic K starts on Sunday with a 22 (at last count) car grid. It's a one hour pit stop race for one or two drivers and heralds a short series for 2014; current plan is for 5 rounds following the same format as this first one. Obviously it's for cars prepared to FIA App K.
The main difference from last time is the change from "under 2 litres only" to any capacity but with a 1000kg minimum weight for V8s. I'll be there in the Falcon, hoping the weather holds out although the forecast looks changeable. From the CSCC: Regulations Our technical regulations are simple, cars must run to Appendix K, the only tyres permitted are Dunlop L or M. Electronic Ignition is permitted so long as the distributor is the sole means of timing. NO crank sensors or management systems are permitted. All V8 cars must run to a minimum weight of 1000 kilos. There will be Seven Classes. Class 1 up to 1300cc. Class 2 1301 to 1600cc. Class 3 1601 to 2000cc. Class 4 2001 to 2700cc. Class 5 over 2700cc. Class 6 Marcos and Elan and Ginetta G4 Pre-Crossflow. Class 7 E-Type. |

Classic K
Well the CSCC just about squeezed the race in before the heavens opened. Very well done to all concerned for making that happen and thank-you to the marshals for giving up part of their lunch break.
I really enjoyed the race. Good hard and clean racing all the way through with the conditions, especially at Montreal (should still be called Sears), meaning it was maximum concentration at all times even during the safety car period. Mark |
