driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
the ex ada car sold in 91 ish raced later and was crashed in 97 ish and rebuilt by vin malkie and now sold to a new owner who has not yet run the car

I know that, but it doesn't answer the question, drifty.
It has a strange chassis number as said above.

I didn't know that the cars were 1A & 4A until I was searching the internet for some of the cars I worked on while in UK. There was so much going on in the background that I guess this detail escaped my attention. I wasn't aware of any other cars on the drawing board.

After Huron closed I lost track of the cars. The last time I saw a 4 A was one day we were testing at Silverstone during 1974. I recognized some of the pieces as the parts I had made for the 3rd car. Can't remember what engine was fitted to it. I was aware that the 1A had done some Atlantic races but never saw it in action. Was not aware of a Formula Ford ever being considered for production.

Just to clarify the John Calvert ownership of the 4A. He bought chassis 01 and 02 at the beginning of 1974 and built up chassis 01 with a 1600 FVA to contest the MN/Tricentrol sports car championship. This car was kept in the original Camel sponsorship colours and a rear wing was added. In 1975 the car was painted black and a 2-litre FVC installed. Again, the MN/Tricentrol championship was contested resulting with a win at the rain-soaked Snetterton race. Two international races were entered: the European 2-litre Championship at Brands Hatch and Hockenheim.
At the end of 1975 the car (chassis 01) and the spare chassis (02) were sold to Dean Dietrich in the USA.
Also, regarding the confusion of the 2 John Calverts. My brother John was the one based in London. He began racing with an 850 Hillman Imp in 1968. In 1970 he raced an F100 Royale RP4 to contest the Tarmac F100 championship. When F100 folded at the end of 1971 he converted the Royale to Gproup 6 spec to contest the Motering News sports car championship in 1972 and 1973. He then purchased the Hurons for 1974.
I believe the other John Calvert was from the north of England somewhere and raced a 2-litre Chevron at the same time as my brother raced the Huron.

Hi Steve I was the one who contacted John about the Hurons whilst I worked at DAF GB. Knew John from his days at Warwick Wright when he raced the Imp when I was at Rootes Motors London where we also raced Imps.
