Targa NZ 2013
As there is no WRC round in NZ, the Targa is now NZ's largest public road stage event (even if it does finish with Taupo circuit stage).
It is likely the event will conclude with another Quinn bottle shower. |

Gotta love Targa
I have worked on many of the targa stages in the Taranaki back blocks to get them ready for the racing, and even in the ol' work ute you can have a hell of a lot of fun on those roads (obeying the 100km/h speed limit of course!) |

With about 250 cars in its heyday, now down to 80 with virtually no classics, it isn't the event it used to be. Good luck to those involved as it is still a fantastic event, but it is no longer a must see for me.
With the VCC Chelsea Hill Climb and a TACCOC race meeting at Hampton Downs, both on Sunday, I'm not yet sure where I'll be. Maybe call at both? |
