I still quite like the noise they make - though sounding good isn't exactly the be-all-end-all element of any motorsport category.

Was good to meet you yesterday Mr. STfan. Great to put a face to a name

It's off-topic, but here's a few pics from yesterday. I spent most of the day bumbling about with a new camera body, but all up I'm quite happy with it.

Anyone after a full set of pics (I admit that it's a bit of a Camry love-fest) can see them here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...5072430&type=1

1 hour, 5 minutes that is - just to alleviate any confusion.

Other than some private individual tacking on some Altima tinware on to a TLX chassis, just to be different, your sources would appear to be stretching the bow some what.
Marke,

The car is real and has been seen. I didnt say it was manufacturer supported, you assumed that. I also didnt mention Angus Fogg. The team will make a release when it suits their sponsor.
Not my business, I was just answering a question originally posted as an idea for a V8 racing car in one of the many series around.

I'm not stretching any bow, leave that up to others.

Poor Fido is running around in circles looking for his bone, he thought that it was well buried but some rascal has come along, dug it up and is waving it around upsetting all the other dogs who now all want a part of it. Meanwhile Pusscat is snarling, spitting and sharpening her claws to defend the contents of her food bowl just in case Fido can't get his bone back and decides to settle for that.

Well, just went for my first spin in a TL schedule car, courtesy of young Jack Kofoed. There was a track day at Puke today and I got invited out as one of his sponsors.

I must say those cars are just fantastic And I never thought I would say that TBH.

Other than the loose canons in their GTR's, evos and STI, the #5 TL was just amazing and testament to Jacks ability as a driver.....he's a good 'un thats for sure.

What got me was the level of grip....as in "we are going to die here" and then popping out of the corner with no worries at all.

And to think that you can pick up a cheapish TL for what, 30-50k?

I believe that Jacks car is one of the better TL's (although Hugh Gardners car does look better inside and out) as I think it was one of the last Ford TLs to be built and also has Edgells old motor in it....happy to be corrected on that though.

Great stuff Jack, and thank you for the opportunity to head out with you today

Is it normal for my left side of my torso to be so sore!!!!

No sign of arrogance there at all...

List of things that Brick has been right about so far:

1. There is a race at Highlands coming up

2. It should be good.

3. Hayden Paddon is doing well.

Not that hard to count to three, or is it??

And the list mile long about the ST failures, predicted change in management (made at first round) the list does go on.

Any news on Andrew Strouds involvement with NZV8TC this year? I have heard strong rumours that he is going to be part of it, but will he be in a TL or TLX?

Yep - hideous accident involving a chainsaw and a juggling mime.

Ask and you shall receive First pic may be relevant to STFan's latest post too... Stroud sitting in the Collins Camry.

How many TL spec cars were there? And can cars competing in the NZV8's run is Challenge Cup and vice versa??

Nice pics HP, and thanks for answering me question

Heycoop, I believe that both classes will allow you to run a TL spec car as either a Dunlop shod NZV8TC (I think its Dunlop anyway), or a Hankook shod V8CC car.

So if you have a TL, then in theory you have plenty of opportunities to show your wares as a driver.

That's my take on it anyway. I am sure that SB, Promax, SJ etc will correct me if I am wrong

Thoughts on the new NZ V8 touring car logo, not sure whether it looks smart and fresh, or looks like a high school graphics project?

Sounds logical anyway.

What are the running costs? I heard they were about $5000 if you owned the car, or about $8-10000 if you lease.

Always wanted to have a crack for a season, but I'll need a few more sponsors and $$$ first...Why is motorsport so expensive

I don't think either NZV8 or C.Cup can afford to not let cars run just because they ran the other series,
as they both need the numbers.

As the inimitable Davis Thorne (of the very funny 27bslash6.com site) once said in an email, "Let's see how many different typefaces we can use in one graphic..."

Agree with OTI
