Went to Detroit Indycar after the Texas V8 race last year and survived, the track and race weekend were better than some Aussie venues and events (eg Gold Coast) and the people of Detroit are determined to rebuild their city.

Don't forget this event is promoted by none other than (future V8 team owner?) Roger Penske.

redesp should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Could the track be run across the Murray?? the first event run across state lines?

Could run it in Boarder Town.. that way it'd go across states and time.. imagine that sector one in Vic sector two in SA.. (and back in time 3 years)... Then back to the future in sector 3.

Probably never happen - but it's a cool concept.

Someone on the Pine Rivers Council (or whatever its merged name is) spruiking the up grade of Lakeside to bring serious racing back there as an aid to the local economy.
On ABC breakfast and in the local rag today I understand.
Interesting in that it was noise restrictions applied by Local Government years ago that killed the place as an ATCC venue.
Would have been bulldozed a few years back but some people were cunning enough to get it "Heritage Listed".
Be great to have it back!
