BRSCC MX5 Super Cup
The BRSCC MX5 Super Cup, is the classic case of phoenix rising from the ashes.
Just a bit of background information, when the Ma5da orgainisation started the MX5 mk3 championship, mid 2010, there were nearly 30 cars on the grid in 2011, numbers dropped in 2012, due to various reasons. The BRSCC started their own championship for the cars in 2013, with only 6 cars starting the first meeting at Combe, so it was going to be sink or swim. But with the backing of certain individuals and teams the Super Cup slowly but surely pulled itself out of bad place. Entry numbers for the first meeting at Silverstone 5th/6th April are likely to be in the low 20's and the interest level now could mean high 20's sometime during the season. Close, competitive racing at running budgets of about £ 1000/meeting, 8 meetings, 5 double headers, 3 triple headers, 20 minute races, all using currant showroom model Mazda MX5 Mk3 2.0 Sport. A race car built using an older age car could be built for around the £ 8000 including buying the donor car. http://www.mx5supercup.co.uk/ |
