I can see that needing to be a pukka website soon. It seems more and more circuits are taking the 'Bernie' view that marshals are an inconvenience that require all this space that can't then be used for commercial activities. Twice last year I came very close to handing in my passes and going home (from two different circuits) after seeing what provisions, or lack of, had been made. As geography means one day meetings are generally too expensive to justify, this year I may well just hang up the overalls alltogether.

We could put a positive spin on this by adding the facts about camping to www.marshalsguide.com/, the Tenths offspring. Care would be needed, not only to preserve balance, but to make sure people check for each event to see if different arrangements have been set up for that meeting.

I saw something about a new campsite at the weekend but I'm not sure how official it was.
Your best bet is to get in touch with Mel Baggaley - details here: http://www.marshals.co.uk/regions/mi.../committee.htm |

To my mind, it is an improvement - it is a bit quieter than the old one and the soil is deep enough to actually get tent pegs in the ground. It is true that the grassed area is smaller than the old one, I don't think it'll prove too much of a problem provided that those with caravans stick to the hard standing areas (which I'm sure people will, given that the other option involves circumventing a number of trees).
