I think you can say that this is the peril of building a team/car around just one driver. As soon as the continuity is gone, i.e. the rules are changed, that's it and it's hard to regain the momentum and that dominance.

Very honorable mention to Rosberg, he backed out of a contact on at least three occasions, very mature! I fear if Vettel or Alonso were driving Perez would have had his maiden win, and Hamilton would have known not to do it again! I have no idea what will be said at Merc behind closed doors, or indeed what Paddy Lowe's message really meant.

What happened to leaving a car width on the outside of a turn for the overtaking car that Vettel and Schumacher were penalized for?
No, sorry, no, it all looked good to me. Good hard racing, no namby-pamby stuff there. You wanna come past me, don't expect me to get out of your way. Next race will be interesting if Nico gets in front. I predict Hamilton will get past......

You do realize I was being sarcastic? We all know success in F1 is mostly about the car. Now the Renault power plants are lacking power and reliability and RBR have lost their dominance for the moment.
What's the point in being so smug about it? I don't remember Vettel saying he can win races in a far inferior car. With the complexity and poor reliability of the powertrain it is also hard to tell why a driver is really doing better or worse than his teammate. Not that I love him so much but he certainly evokes a lot of good old Schadenfreude in many people when he's not winning.

Hmm, whilst I find it welcome that he isn't leading every race, there's no doubt he is a very good driver. However, he is surrounded by lots of other very good drivers, and once they all get good cars....

C'mon guys, it's only been three races. Australia didn't really count for Vettel, second race on the podium and now had an average race in bahrain. I'm not a vettel fan, but saying he's a bad driver after one average race is a bit crass. I'd say out of all the drivers, Raikkonen's having the hardest time of all this season.

Plenty of them are finding their feet, suddenly no longer having the advantage they had previously..... By half-distance, we'll have a much better idea of what is going on.....

I might be responsible for this Vettel bashing due to my earlier post. I had no intention of 'bashing' Seb, merely pointing out that the popular image of recent seasons of some 'Wonder Boy' who only had to turn up to win, was as much due to the car as to Vet's talent. Without a superior car he is going to be in the mix with all of the other top drivers. Last year Hamilton was pretty much a 'nobody' in terms of results, but now with the Mercedes, he's a 'Wonder Boy' again.

Basically you can not judge a drivers true worth when his car is not up to his talent, conversely you cannot judge a drivers true worth when he has a far superior car.

Nope and no one's being smug, it's merely an observation, .

Agreed, and just in case anybody misread my post, I wasn't bashing Vettel but rather bashing Vettel bashing through deliberate exaggeration.

My response was a bit over the top for this forum, I know most people on this forum are just having a joke, but there are always a couple of people (not so much on this forum but others on the internet) who have said things about vettel that makes me question how many brain cells they have.

Now let bygones be bygones and go back to whatever it was we were doing before we hijacked this thread (again)

I hope Vettel wins, making up a 49 point deficit to win his fifth straight title!
That will teach the idiots that thought up this stupid boneheaded double points idea!
