Ambrose Returning to V8SC

http://motorsportstalk.nbcsports.com...-may-be-close/

nothing confirmed just yet, but considering that Penske wants in, they could always get this guy into the Penske-DJR outfit, would be great to see this guy come back. Was hoping for him to get an oval win in the Sprint Cup if he leaves NASCAR, but two race wins in America's top racing series with a few poles and success in the Nationwide series is a pretty good achievement although they were mostly at Watkins Glen.

I haven't heard an Ambrose back to V8SC story for hours.

Is Betty expecting a multi-million dollar sponsorship by then, to support it?

So if Marcus decided to come home and linkup with Roger, then I guess Roger would have him back in the states for the road courses.

Anything is possible , just how many dollars are in the mix?

And calendar clashes, of course. Look at the Bathurst 12-Hour situation - Imagine the V8 hierarchy being upstaged by that American NASCAR mob?

It'd never happen, unless you put V8 Supercars on ovals for those NASCAR road course weekends

I would agree with you, but if V8SC open their arms to Roger, I bet they make a change to the calender. You dont have one of the biggest names in motosport , and then tell them to **** of , oh I forgot this is a little outfit in Aust called V8 Supercars, ah well i will have to agree

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Cant help but wonder if Marcos coming back is a good thing, nearly ten years since he last raced.

he left with a reputation as one of the best in the series, but coming back may tarnish that legend

I guess however it might help the legend grow also and he can finish the unfinished business (Bathurst)

I have heard it from someone who knows Marcos very well that he has no intention of coming back and racing in V8's, been there, done that.
Thins do change though, but from my understanding it was a definite no.

Mark Webber said the same thing for many years about ever returning to Le Mans.

At some point he and his wife are likely to want to return home to raise the family in Australia. My guess is that Marcos will drive in the country where he wants to live, instead of living in the country where he wants to drive.
