The Realist should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
NZ SuperTourers

Back to the future with a new Name.
Supertourers were a big thing around the world in the 1990's and gave us some great racing. They were a bit expensive to run but had manufacturer support. The name had some credibility and people could relate to the cars being used.
This will hopefully open the door for future cars to enter the series

If Supertourers thinks just a name change will give it credibility , it may be mistaken.

promax has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
did you really need to start a new thread? the name change was mentioned in the V8ST - 2014/15 thread.

Strictly speaking, the cars from the 1990's you're referring to were called 'Super Touring' cars, not 'Super Tourers' or 'SuperTourers'

There was also another class in NZ that used a similar name,
although the class never really took off.

http://www.linkecu.com/newsfromlink/...nsored-by-link

Was called "Super Touring Cars"

With the V8 Supercars now not coming here till the first weekend of November 20015, we can all concentrate on getting some of their sponsors money that was allocated for their April Pukekohe event.
Otherwise they will grab all the summer series sponsors money just prior to our main racing series.
At least we'll get a good guy falks fireworks display on the 5th.
HopefullyV8Supercars, rather than Pukekohe will pay for it.
At least now NZSupertourers have a year to consolidate and prove themselves without the International competition for the Sponsors dollar.

I would think the major sponsors will have their budgets for the financial year ending March 2016 pretty much locked in. It won't matter whether the meeting is April or November 2015. I wouldn't expect the November date to change available money one iota.
