Williams. Massa finally got the podium despite having 26 races where he didn't finished on the podium.

Williams did well, but they were still around 20 seconds behind........So Mercedes get it!

Merc for finally making par for once. Nothing exceptional from the other teams.

It's got to be Mercedes. They owned Monza today. 1st and 2nd in qualifying and 1st and 2nd in the race. Plus, a hell of a gap back to 3rd.
Honourable runner-up for Williams. They were obviously second fastest today - but they still showed off how impressive there car was - just look at how Bottas could just power past some of the cars on the straights. I just hope that Williams can maybe manage at least one win this season. I really hope they can make it back. Special mention to Red Bull as well. Yes, they perhaps put Vettel on the wrong strategy - but they did manage an impressive performance at a track that they were never going to be strong at. Losers of the day - Ferrari. In front of their home crowd - their hero - Alonso breaks down with car failure. Kimi only makes 9th. The Tifosi must be weeping! |

The Mercs for not crashing into each other!:
Seriously though, Williams for me. 3 and 4 and for moving into 3rd spot on the constructors table on Ferrari soil. From a team point of view this is where the action is. |

The obvious choice is Mercedes, as they are clearly head and soulders above the other teams but I thought this time it was Williams, with a solid drive from Massa and a good 4th from Bottas and as a team they are getting better.

Should be Merc of course, but I'm giving it to Williams, whatever the logic might demand otherwise.....

What I am looking for at this stage of the season is a team that out-performs or over-performs on its present form or qualifying. Mercedes did what they should always do so there is no real exceptional stuff there.
They are very good this season but as far as the race was concerned on current form that is par for the course. The same for Williams. Clearly third and fourth in qualifying with a gap back to McLaren , they should have finished third and fourth as par so nothing exceptional there either. McLaren went a little backwards and I am not including Magnussen as a tenth but a seventh here, his position on the road. This was because Red Bull put both cars ahead of the McLaren's on the road and were clearly the team that made the most progress from their grid position and came closest to exceeding their potential based on the grid and general expectations at this venue. Force India could have challenged them had Hulkenberg also beaten Button but that didn't happen so Red Bull get the vote. |

Redbull out performed themselves on the circuit that (probably) suits them least

I just decided to be blatantly biased and give it to Team Willie. They comprehensively jumped Ferrari in the championship, on Ferrari home soil.
Logic says that it should have been Mercedes because they scored a dominant one-two and powered most of the other successful cars in the race (Red Bull excepted). |
