2013 French F4 wasn't that strong, Antoine Hubert can't be compared with the recent stream of top French talent. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

Hmm...now why would you say that? Hubert has been finishing in the points in Eurocup in his first season, in a series which is notoriously tough to crack.

Looking at the two French F4 champions before him, I don't remember Vaxiviere being a points' regular. Or Baron being anywhere near the top 15, leave alone points.

In fact, he's the second best Eurocup rookie in the standing at the moment, with only Olsen ahead. And Olsen participated in FR2.0 NEC last year, so Hubert's the top FR2.0 rookie in the standings at the moment. He's currently 9th, one position ahead of where Pierre Gasly, another French F4 grad, finished in his rookie 2.0 season in 2012.

Hubert was typically a front runner in the championships he competed full time in. In the CIK Academy, he was beating and competing at the front with drivers like Charles Leclerc, Ben Barnicoat and Matthew Graham.

Actually in Academy he was competing with Filippos Kalesis and later in U18 the drivers you mention plus Giovinazzi.

I think Hubert's a good driver and has a lot of potential (I try to watch as much French F4 as possible - I watched probably about half of last season) and is still learning as a driver. I think he'll get a solid career in motorsports if he chooses to.

What about the FR Alps races at Monza?

Stefan Riener claimed pole for Race 1, becoming the first poelsitter not to win, as Charles Leclerc took his maiden win, only to double up from pole in R2, with Alessio Rovera and Matevos Isaakyvan sharing the 2nd places. de Vries had a "bad" weekend...

...and, to steal gomick's thunder ():

FR Alps points after Monza:

Nyck de Vries - 200
Charles Leclerc - 130
Matevos Isaakyan - 122
George Russell - 77
Simon Gachet - 68
Alessio Rovera - 65

Leclerc was also mega in his "guest" Eurocup appearance...

Without the consistent de Vries, it would have been incredibly tight championship.

And coincidentally both are McLaren Junior drivers too!

Nyck de Vries takes his fifth Eurocup win of the season at Jerez today, with Polesitter Dennis Olsen second and Jack Aitken third.

That second place also secures Olsen the runner-up spot in the standings. For those unaware, he's been on a 'Simulator Development Program' with Red Bull for a few years now.

The question I have is: With his stellar karting career, third place in Formula Renault NEC in his first year of single-seaters and now second in the Eurocup, could he maybe be in line for a promotion to the full Junior Team in 2015??
