Makinen's Snake Bitten.
Tommi's 2002 WRC season of bad luck continues with another mechanical failure of his Subaru in the Safari Rally. Will his luck change?

No, that means is the term of bad luck, R. Don't worry he's ok.

I think he's pushing too hard. But I also think it's time for him to hang them up. He doesn't need the aggro he's been suffering (i.e getting both barrels from Colin McCrash.)

Feel sorry for Tommi (almost). He's had nearly no luck this year with Subaru, but will probably take heart from the fact Mitsubishi are nowhere this year.
I'll be surprised if he's around next year. He's got to be close to saying 'Enough is enough.' |

i was watching an interview of tommi on tv and he said he would like to notch up six drivers titles before he retires, im not sure if he still has that thought. This year at subaru may have really changed his perspective of rallying.

It is being reporting that Tommi is looking forward to challenging for the driver title in 2003.
"I have a two-year contract with Subaru," said Makinen, dismissing rumours he would call it quits at the end of this season. "Of course I will be here next season. This is a nice team with nice people." More at www.wrc.com |

He looked very discouraged in Kenya. I wondered if he were regretting all that effort for naught and wondering if he were going to change his mind.
Of course, if he has a really rotten season it may make him want to come back and turn it around so he goes out on a high note. And then perhaps Risto could come back? Where is Risto anyway? |
