what series for modified Ford Sierra
Hi guys,
I have a ford sierra sapphire, running a 2.9 V6 cosworth engine from the Granada, along with many other mods, that I am currently turning into an all out track car, with an eye on possibly racing it at some point if I can find a suitable series. so any idea what series this would suit, as I have looked on various sites like CTCRC etc and cannot see if my car would suit. any help appreciated, so I can tailor any more mods to suit a class. thanks Adam |

Hi Adam,
It sounds like your car would be a perfect fit for the CTCRC Thunder Saloons Championship, and id need confirmation, but im sure it sounds like it might go into the BOSS (Blue Oval Saloon) championship, where there are plenty of other Fords and particularly Sapphire Sierra's to dice with! Infact, Im pretty sure Ash in his Sierra XR4 is running the 2.9 V6 cossy in the BOSS championship, and that goes well! The regs are up on the website : http://classictouringcars.com/champ_thunder.html , but if you want more info you can email Andy Johnson at: andy.johnson@classictouringcars.com and he will have all the answers! Be good to see you out racing Mike |

Please feel free to contact me and I will try and help you as much as possible. Cheers Andy |

thanks for the reply.
I had looked on the CTCRC website but didn't spot the regulations, but its good to hear it should be a good fit. I will take a look at the regs and see if they answer my questions, if not ill get in contact. thanks Adam |

Ashley does very well with his similar car and has previously won the championship I believe, as the Cossies blow the turbos this combination plods on and I think its a winner!

my plan was always to turbo the engine, would this be allowed in the BOSS series as I couldn't see it in the regs stating if you can or not.

Just for some balance, you would also be able to slot into the BARC SE QMN saloons: www.barcsoutheast.co.uk

Have a look at the CSCC Special Saloons , think it would fit in nicely ,you have to run slicks but they are cheap secondhand, plus the club membership and registration is amongs't the lowest out there.

I would second the BARC-SE QMN saloons.
Good series and a nice mix of cars. |

as suggested the NSSCC, Boss , NW saloons or BARC-SE QMN saloons would be fine.
I ran my sierra with a cosworth 24V BOA in the NSSCC in 2010, changed the engine for a cosworths YB in for 2011 and never looked back! steve |
