Should Senior Drivers Give Back To Junior Motorsport?
Footballers, cricketers and other professional sports have the top echelon of their players doing promotional clinics etc for young children to encourage their interest in their chosen sport. Should drivers such as those who compete in V8's do the same such as going to kart meetings and passing on their experience to the younger drivers? If it already happens I must have missed it.

Just spent 2 minutes on Google - some links below. No doubt there'll be more, should give you a taste. Plus there's the stuff that doesn't get releases written about it - driver appearances where they spend time with the karters etc. Have seen it a number of times at the local kart club and have heard about it heaps though the karting community.

No doubt about it, its a good thing. I'd hate to see it made compulsary though.
If drivers/teams want to do it, all credit to them. They shouldn't be made to do it. |
