Its not down to us, its the BARC that have set the calendar, I think they have done us proud personally. Maybe Oulton has out priced itself now I really don't know? BTW MAllory and Donington are past the Watford Gap last time I checked!

Oulton is about the same price as any other MSVR circuit, from what I found when I was organising some races for AROC last year........
We (AROC) are looking at running within the CTCRC pre-93 and pre-83 series next year, and whilst I appreciate the range of events, I do find the Southern-centric list a bit unfortunate. Nearest race to me 118 miles away at Donington, Mallory at 133.....everywhere else another 50 - 150 miles. And I live just 10 miles from the geographic centre of GB |

I'm southern based and these venues with the exception of Brands Hatch aren't exactly local, Brands hatch is 70 miles, Castle Coombe 160 miles, Donington 190 miles, Mallory 180 miles, Pembrey 265 miles, Silverstone 150 miles, Snetterton 165 miles, Thruxton 110 miles.

What should Donington read?
Also, what's the change from pre-2005 to pre-2003? Is it just a year of eligibility change, or are there other reg changes? I can't see anything on the club website at the moment, apart from a sponsor announcement. Just asking because I'm just finishing a car to the current pre-05 regs, but still have the opportunity to change things if needed. |

Richard as I said we were in the hands of the BARC on this one. They lost a lot of money running some races this year I understand so we were not a a position to dictate. If guys actually enter more rounds then that situation would no doubt change but as things stand I think they did us proud.
Tim worry not, 2003s is a whole new enterprise that is designed to be more like btcc 2 litres as they were when they first went over to that format but without sequential boxes I believe but on slicks. They will be much more developed than the stock 2005s. Full rules for new series are going up on site this week and I understand there has been a lot of interest. |

As for Donington I'm unaware that is incorrect.

If you lived 10 miles from the geographic centre of England as I do, you'd find Mallory, Donington, Silverstone & Rockingham all within an hours drive! |

Not just this year, I have been told that they have lost £2.5M in total for 2011, 2012 and 2013, with whatever losses for 2014 on top.

I don't know the facts but if people stopped moaning about a few extra miles and looked at the calendar for what it was, basically full of damned good motor racing circuits, and made the effort it would be better for everyone. Just as well they don't live in the US where 250 miles can be considered your local track lol! Its no good moaning at CTCRC or BARC if the grids were full then CTCRC would be in a better position to negotiate as it is I still think BARC have done the club proud with this calendar.
