Eat your hat, Eddie Cheever!
How ironic. In the week when eddie Cheever looked set to sack Tomas Scheckter, he decides against it and Scheckter finally picks up huis first win of the season. As with all the other near misses, Scheckter led from the front but had to come from 8th with 13 laps to go to win from team mate Buddy Rice. What happened to Cheever? he put it in the wall! Well done Tomas, lets have some more of that!

unreal.
what an awesome finish to the race , Tomas finally breaks through for his first win , rookie Buddy Rice comes home an impressive second , and another impressive drive from Tony renna to finish in fourth I think it was. of course like most I was really rooting for Sarah Fisher to get up for the win and what an effort she did too , but sadly fell back with about ten laps to go. interesting that Eddie was the one to make the mistake this week , i wonder if he will rest himself and give the car to someone else ??? LOL I doubt that very much indeed. but what a great race towards the end with some fantastic dicing between the top ten or so lets hope the rest of the year is just as good. Here are the final results of the Michigan 400 1 52 Scheckter, Tomas 2 53 Rice, Buddy 3 21 Giaffone, Felipe 4 7 Renna, Tony 5 6 de Ferran, Gil 6 3 Castroneves, Helio 7 4 Hornish Jr, Sam 8 23 Fisher, Sarah 9 8 Sharp, Scott 10 20 Hearn, Richie 11 34 Redon, Laurent 12 44 Barron, Alex 13 91 Lazier, Buddy 14 98 Boat, Billy 15 12 Boesel, Raul 16 55 Luyendyk, Arie 17 41 Ray, Greg 18 2 Dismore, Mark 19 11 Salazar, Eliseo 20 31 Mack, George 21 37 Harrington, Scott 22 51 Cheever Jr, Eddie Accident 23 14 Dare, Airton Electrical 24 24 Buhl, Robbie Mechanical 25 9 Ward, Jeff Accident |

Due to not having Sky TV, I haven't seen Tomas Scheckter since British F3 in 2000, where I wasn't impressed much.
But from what I've read and heard, he's been the quickest guy in the IRL all year, leading 8 of the 10 races (leading most laps in 4 races). Well done Eddie Cheever for keeping the faith with Tomas, well done Buddy Rice on his debut. But most of all, Well done Tomas for keeping your head when dropping to 12th. Brilliant! |

Cheever has a special way of making himself look like a fool. "I won't tolerate any mistakes!"
When interviewed after his crash, they asked him if he'd be running 2 or 3 cars in Kentucky. "It's obvious I should be running two. For those guys." Well, Scheckter gets a win under his belt. Great drive. But even more impressive was Rice. Having never driven an IRL car and having never made a pitstop, he had a fantastic drive. Kudos also to Renna for such a strong showing in his second event. |

no it means that he is the first driver to drive for our team to go on to win a top class championship race. He drove for us in FVJ and finished 3rd in the championship scoring his only win of he season with us before he moved to John Village for the last 3 races.
