Multiple Login e-mails
Some users have reported that they are receiving e-mails about failed login attempts.
There is unfortunately a spate of "brute force" attacks going on at the moment affecting many forums and sites. As part of our normal anti-spam procedures we monitor several types of suspicious activity and have a variety of actions available, up to and including banning entire countries by IP range. If you get one of these e-mails then it means that someone has UNSUCCESSFULLY tried to login and that we have detected the attempts. After the e-mail is sent we generally ban that IP address from accessing any part of the site for an hour. We have also made some of our scanning a little more aggressive, so unfortunately if you forget your password and have too many tries in quick succession you may find yourself blocked for an hour too. As with any online service your privacy and account security is extremely important to us. You can help us by following the usual security guidelines, like not using the same password on multiple sites and deffinately not using the same password for Tenths that you use for any e-mail service. In the meantime if you've any queries then feel free to send me a PM or drop an e-mail to webmaster@tentenths.com |
