Long awaited bump:
Well, one of the 2 Lambos for the ALMS has materialized, as we all know. However, it is not performing as well as I thought it would. Its time in the most recent practice wasn't good at all. Any idea why? |

It's an upgraded GT3 car with little development so far and is still managing to keep up with the tail of the GTE field. Seems fine to me at the moment.

Yep, upgraded by Reiter, as with the Gulf Lamborghini that raced the ILMC last year.

Their Yokohama tires may not be as competitive as the Michelin and Dunlop tires the top teams are running. That's just speculation though. Perhaps the Paul Miller Porsche running Yokohamas can serve as a barometer, but their tires could be quite different from the ones on the Lambo.

They are still running a standard GT3 engine with small restrictors. They told me, that they loose a lot of speed on the straights and are even slower on the straights than the GTC Porsche....

In fact, there is no "real" GT2 engine existing for the Gallardo at the moment. They have to deal with the available package. Maybe there will be some upgrades later....

reiter for sure is busy to build cars for customer european teams that will run in fia gt3, blancpain, world gt, adac gt master etc.... i think that they don't care a lot about JLOC "ambitions".... just think about that the R-SV that JLOC used in LM 2010 didn't even have the 6.5 V12 engine but the old one used in the R-GT....

Hmmm. Gallardo GT-E has been announced. Could it be Audi will fund it?

DSC imply, very broadly, that AUDI are developing an R8 V10 GT-E...
NOT a team, AUDI. So, I don't expect facepalm this time! |

Kinda strange as both models will be replaced in the nearest future.

"The Lamborghini Thread" : Reiter, Murcielago R-GT, Gallardo GT3...
Bit of a thread revival but thought this the best place to post.
Peter Kox has parted ways with Reiter Engineering Quote:
It's a bit of a surprise seeing as though they've been together for so long. I got into sportscars around the turn of the century and whenever I think Peter Kox I think of Reiter (of course he's done a lot more then that). Intrigued to understand the reasons behind the immediate severing of ties between him and Reiter. Bit odd. |

He hasn't been provided a seat in Reiter this year, allthough there were some negotiations.
Anyway he will remain racing the Mclaren 650S of his friend Nico Pronk, under the Banner of Kox Racing: http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/118630 |

Yeah I noticed he hadn't raced for Reiter this year as yet and other drivers such as Catsburg and Enge were more prominent in the Reiter cars. Changing of the guard perhaps? Although there is the comment about it the reasons for the split being a bit complicated.... Maybe he's moving onto team ownership under the Kox Racing banner and doing more with that. Happy to see him still racing, I think he has a lot to offer still. |
