Despite all the inevitable street course cautions at the end, it was an entertaining race with a fair amount of real passing.
With fuel economy being the theme, Honda got 2nd-9th. Chevy should be glad they switched to a timed race or it would have been an embarrassing result at home. |

That was entertaining if chaotic. There were quite a lot of suspect moves resulting in accidents in the race that went unpunished though.
Still waiting for Filippi and Coletti to stop crashing. They're good, honest. Not so much Gonzales though. |

All in all, it was an entertaining and chaotic weekend. Lots of rain, lots of Yellows, lots of strategy changes, two Red flags and not the results I think most people would have predicted, with 7 different race winners but that's IndyCar.

Congrats to Munoz and Seabass on their wins. The real winner this weekend was mother nature as she reeked havoc over the proceedings, but that did offer some interesting strategies through both races.
I'm a Sage Karem fan, but someone needs to get in his ear about some of his moves this weekend. I think everyone did well with the conditions but race 2 started to get a little absurd in the final laps. In the end, I enjoyed both races as it's a very neat setting and a very challenging circuit that seems to produce a decent show, even under difficult conditions. |

What a sh*tshow that was. Reminds me of Toronto 2011. Yellow flag-restart-crash. Repeat ad nauseam.
Still, lots of excitement on the track when there was racing happening, some intriguing issues with fuel strategy and tire choice. Congrats to Sebastien Bourdais on a very impressive final run (helped by Sato and Rahal duelling behind him). Great results for Vautier, Daly, Hawksworth and Chavez. And a bunch of WTF's to hand out, chief among which must be Charlie Kimball. I wouldn't like to be on the receiving end of what Chip Ganassi must doubtless have said to him after that. Right... on to Texas! |

Nice to see Rahal's upswing in form. He's physically looks alot tougher as a driver as well.
Messy races but entertaining and congratulations to Munoz and Bourdais. |

I missed the red flag because I fell asleep somewhere after 40 laps (it was past midnight here), but luckily enough woke up before the last 5 minutes.

Very entertaining race 2 but started to get a little fed up of the inevitable yellow green yellow pattern. Glad it finished under green.
The onboard shots are so impressive with bumps and slippery track. They look a handfull as they should. Starting to agree with Will Power. More horsepower needed |

Typical "bad" IndyCar race. It literally took me three days to watch the second Detroit race. I watched the first 35-ish laps on Sunday, but somehow slowed down after that. It's hard to stay concentrated and not say go wash the dishes with all the stop and go happening. |

Bordais cracks me up. In an article on Autoweek.com he had this to say about how F1 ruins tracks because it is about money and politics:

Looks like Bourdais been chugging some great, pure kool-aid. That race was an embarrassment. It was nice of the irl though to throw the red flag so the half dozen people left in the main stand can see a green flag finish.
Monaco's a parking lot? Houston anyone? |
