The Best (dressed) World Champion of Them All
I note that Bernie has hailed Lewis Hamilton as the greatest World Formula 1 Champion ever .............. why?
Because he is a good advert for the sport, unlike Vettel and, presumably Nino Farina, his 'rock'n'roll image attracts fans and sponsors. https://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/news/...24794--f1.html I suppose that if this is what brings in new fans we shall need to 'sex-up' the racing to cope with an influx of models, Hurrah Henrys, Pop stars, celebrities, cross dressers, weirdos, and nancy boys. I can hardly wait. |

Well, Bob Dylan's former backing band The Alpha Band sang "people cult and pop religion are creeping in everywhere" back in 1977.
Now that there are news agencies specialised on celebrity news and other tabloid fodder (which is more entertainment than news), it is no surprise that every entity who gets their income from a sponsor seeking for publicity will try to get themselves into the celeb "news" bulletins. Bernie's comment is all about current arketing trends, not about sport. The guys from F1Rejects (now a former website, by the way) probably would have inserted a funny quote about their own running gag of a completely ficticious "Chinese F1 Idol" casting show format. Or they would have just wondered aloud about Scott Speed who won the "Red BullTM US F1 Idol" competition against Ryan Hunter-Reay and AJ Allmendinger (among others) some 10 years back. These days, he may be the sharpest dresser amongst his erstwhile Idol competitors. |

It's a shame Vettel didn't reply with "Ecclestone is bad for F1".

Hamilton has the cool rapper persona but he just can't quite click it with the media. Funny stuff.
I wouldn't know about any of his celebrity shenanigans if my friends here at ten-tenths weren't so diligent in keeping me up to date on these kinds of going ons. Thanks Bauble. |

Is Hamilton a quick driver?
Yes. And that, folks, is all I care about. |

Dear oh dear....
'Fashion,' is that what it's called? My first thought when I opened the link was Timmy Mallett. |

As if you didn't know;
My name is Lewis Ham-il-ton I am de World Cham-pi-on. Around de tracks I do my think, With lots of tats and lots of bling I win da races oh so fast. Nico he can not get past. Like a Rock’n’Rolling Star, I sing da rap and play guitar. Around da town I strut my stuff. Babes and chicks I get enough. They dig my threads so cool and trendy. Lots of flowers, I look like Wendy. £100 mil am my wages, See me in the fashion pages. Girls all dig my crazy charm. Models hang upon my arm. Man I am so great and famous, A bigger star than Ur-anus. Bernie say I da best, Well at least the way i’m dressed. I go no time for this clap. Fans enjoy this Lewis rap. |
