On the other hand, I might betray a whiff of bias by saying I think any series that visits traditional circuits like Laguna, Road Atlanta, the Glen, Mosport, Sebring, and Road America among others automatically has it's status elevated to some extent, TUSC being no exception.
One thing that makes the new IMSA so disappointing, is just how much the series should have going for it. IMSA still visits most of the historic American circuits, and also has control of several formerly fantastic, legendary ALMS events in the Sebring 12hr and the Petit Lemans, plus the historic 6hr. race at Watkins Glen. The World renowned ALMS GT class even carried over supposedly unchanged. Yet the series was still unable or unwilling to produce a product even remotely close to what American sports car racing fans were accustomed too.
In my opinion this disqualifies the new IMSA from any claim of being the second best sports car series in the world, so I voted for the Blancpain series.

When I look at the TUSC/USCC/WTSC/ISC or whatever it is called today, I see two things that even after the Daytona Beach buyout are the best in all of racing:

- Circuits (/ event formats)
- Support series package

However for me everything else is about the worst in all of racing

There is no middle line here

Seeing the crowds there in person this year would contradict this.

He asked about international appeal. Watkins has little to none.
