Race control instruct the SC what to do. Being in that position was a stupid place. Other have said they usually sit on the top of mountain straight so all can see it, not over a blind hill.

To an extent but not when to turn green lights off for example. There could have been a blanket instruction to ease up on the hill that wasn't followed etc. like I said, you can't blame race control 100% nor from the footage JW - just poorly handled all round.

But i'm sure race control had an idea which cars were on that straight, and when to instruct the SC to turn the green light off

It should be default off, and you get a green if you're allowed to pass, but hey, V8s have never had a good record in this regard!

It happened in NASCAR.

Perhaps here we might see the drivers approach the officials re a rule change.

Of course they might not, but you wait to see the stink when a driver kills or seriously injured a marshal or a fellow competitor.

That's exactly how it works & what V8's have always done - seems the SC crew may have been slow to turn it off after the previous car - like I said mistakes all round by the sound of it.

The NASCAR system wouldn't work here. The whole point of a yellow flag is for safety. Continuing to race is just pointless.

Code60 would work (For safety, but at the expense of V8SCs fabricated entertainment!)
