Dunlop CR82 tyres

Getting ready to order new 15"CR82 tyres for the 917 for next season and wondering if any of you have run into quality problems with the larger width tyres since production has moved. Much has been said about the CR65 but nowt about its big brother, the 82.

Maybe it is time to go onto Avons, but car is well set up on Dunlops now and they are/were so much cheaper.

Ah, CR82- that's Post Historic pattern like wot they run at Goody on Gp1 cars. I've got a set of little 13" ones from 2015 but can't report on any problems!

What I do know is that the Portugese CR65s were giving people problems even up to last October race in Portugal! Cars on axle stands waiting for delivery in time for qualifying, handling changed due to sidewall construction differences, and inconsistent rolling radius between tyres. The last supposedly caused excessive diff wear for some until it was realised that tyres of same size were not necessarily same diameter....

Let's hope 2016 production learns from 2015!
