New LMP2 FIA crash tests
Was wondering if the new spec LMP2 cars have to undergo the same FIA crash tests as do LMP1, or is their test different?
For that matter, I am also curious if the LMP3 crash tests are different also, being as they only have a stell roll cage? Ideas people? |

The ACO have been trying to standardize on crash testing regs for LMP1 and LMP2 for a while. Granted, most LMP2 teams homologate based off of LMP1 regs because it saves time and money on taking a LMP2 design and upgrading it for LMP1 if it already passed LMP1 spec crash tests. LMP1 crash test compliance has only been mandatory for closed top LMP2 cars since 2014, though.
