Hi Richard
When the rain came down Brian Jolliffe decided the grass at Camp was more attractive than the pack stuff. No damage but the heavens had opened and I think discretion was called for hence the early finish. My magneto decided that there were no sparks left before practice so I did not make it out and did an engine change. Started 20th and made it up to 6th so really pleased. You have been missed out with us this year. Stuart |

Was a great shame for me Richard as I had got back past two cars when the rain came . Then red flag and results put back a lap .I have to say if that racing a 500 has been fantastic for me . Real racers and some very good drivers . Also a nice bunch of people .

Damp conditions notwithstanding, we had a very social day out, great to see so many clubs and classics made the effort to get there. It really is one of the best meetings of the year.
Qualifying was relatively benign weatherwise, even had a dry line emerging. The race was a bit more humid, and we seemed to be quite tightly packed on the grid so I was even more cautious than usual. Sunlight through spray makes for interesting pictures but slightly tricky driving. https://youtu.be/wCJUAXQWfgY Around lap 7 it went a bit beyond humid, and then arguably even further than moist. The safety car was needed to recover the Alfa and Jaguar stranded by Folly and Tower, and although the rain then abated slightly I thought I'd show the first clear lap so you can see what the marshalls had to put up with, not sitting in nice warm cars like us saloon racers (and apparently some photographers...) - thanks again to the orange army and I'm afraid it took me a few corners after the flag to unclench my hands from the wheel to wave my appreciation. https://youtu.be/AQ4g8cSjPYQ |

This must be my favourite historic racing event of the year, really enjoyed it despite the rain! Is the Brian Jolliffe mentioned earlier related to David Jolliffe who used to manage Corsley garage and race a Mini in Rob Walker colours in the mid 60s?

Only got to see and take photos of 3 races. Two, of course, were the FISCAR races and the other the F3 500s. The last photo is an accidental special effects one!!:-

Iain, I can't wait!! Incidentally, we had an Arnott in our race too, fitted with Lea Francis power. Here are a few shots from our FISCAR Inter-Marque race, which are not in the website race report and chosen more for displaying the depth and content of the race rather than the quality of the pics (my excuse anyway!):-

OK, it is actually quite pleasing that they are not instantly recognisable since it means we are bringing out rare and unusual cars.
Bob, Mike can't be bothered to read my long drawn out race reports!! The only other one which may not be instantly identified is Rob Cobden's Fairthorpe Electron - the little yellow car (111) last pic @ #61 |

Arnott Lea Francis is Arthur S-F's car . . . . came from a museum in Scandinavia ? and was restored with a little help from yours truly . . . engine was one of the more interesting challenges I've had in recent years.
I think there were 3, Duncan R has the LeMans car which has a Climax engine ??? |
