Crystal Ball Time Capsule 2016
Write predictions (the more quanitifable the better) that you can make about 2016 that you can use to look back on at the end of the year and laugh at your expectations.
The thread will be locked before FP1 and dug up at season's end. 1. Sebastian Vettel will win the world drivers' championship. 2. Mercedes will of course win the world constructors' championship. 3. Haas will get between 5 and 15 points. 4. Exactly 4 drivers will win a race. 5. Exactly 4 teams will win a race. 6. There will be at least 6 wet races. 7. Sauber will score fewer points than Haas. 8. Manor will score at least one point. 9. Kimi Raikkonen will make at least one remark on the radio that is massively commented on and cheered. 10. There will be at least 2 driver replacements during the season. 11. A McLaren driver will get on a podium (not like in Brazil last year). 12. Verstappen will get on the podium. |

Just for fun, some more realistic than others:-
1. Rosberg will renew his Mercedes contract 2. Perez will get at least one podium, but his team mate will not 3. Williams will win a race 4. Raikonnen will retire from F1 at the end of the season 5. Ricciardo will get a race win 6. Hamilton WDC 7. Sainz will beat his teammate in qualifying over the course of the year 8. The VW to F1 rumors will start up again over the course of the season 9. Both Haas cars will score points in the same race during the first half of the season. 10. One of the teams will be taken over before the season ends. 11. F1 will be more boring now that Maldonado has left... 12. All the 22 drivers announced at the start of the season will score points apart from Rio Haryanto |

1. Hamilton will finish as 2016 WDC
2. Williams will be beaten by Red Bull in 2016 WCC 3. There will be at least one driver change during the season 4. There will be a new Grand Prix winner 5. Every team will score points 6. It will be announced during the season that the 2017 season will be 20 races 7. Perez will make the podium more times than Hulkenburg 8. Hulkenburg will announce his return for the 2017 Le Mans 24 Hours 9. Jolyon Palmer will outscore Magnussen over the second half of the season 10. At various points in the season Grosjean, Bottas, Hulkenburg, and Ricciardo will be linked with Raikkonen's seat for 2017, but Ferrari will announce that Kimi is sticking around for another year. |

Where can I find last year's Capsule?
1. Think we're going to get a crazy silly-season 2. Hulkenberg announced at McLaren for next season? 3. Kyvat will be given the boot for next season 4. Renault will be a massive flop 5. Manor to score points 6. New radio rules to cause some head-scratching moments in the first half of the season - drivers and teams will get used to it though 7. C4's coverage will be highly popular 8. Wehrlein will be hailed as the next big thing 9. Hamilton will do something with his personal appearance which will upset other people 10. Verstappen will show some form of personality. Maybe he'll sneeze or something. Or smile if he gets a podium. I dunno. Hard to be specific on this one. |

1 Toro Rosso will start the season better than Red Bull before fading as the 2015 Ferrari runs out of evolution later in the year.
2 Ferrari will win 6 races, all by Vettel 3 Hamilton will play mind games again, with Rosberg spitting the dummy and leaving Mercedes at the end of the year 4 All teams will score points this season 5 Sauber will be the worst of the established teams despite the 2016 engine. Oh and 6 I will get at least 3 of these wrong. |

1. Haas will get in the top 5 at 2 races
2. Hamilton will look like being champion but then be overhauled by Rosberg with three races to go 3. Vettel will have an immense barrel-roll crash somewhere 4. The Honda engine will surprise us all again, but I'm not sure which way that'll be! 5. I'll get on telly at Silverstone |

Here's my most realistic guesses
1) Vettel and Raikkonen will get a 1-2 at Monza 2) Rosberg will beat Hamilton 3) Kyvat will get the best result with RBR with 2nd 4) Sauber will struggle this year 5) Williams will drop back 6) Raikkonen will be dropped at the end of the year 7) STR will get more podiums that RBR |

1 - Hamilton beats Vettel to win the WDC
2 - Rosberg is announced to not be racing for Mercedes in 2017 by the time we leave Europe 3 - Raikkonen is announced to not be racing for Ferrari in 2017 by the time we leave Europe 4 - Silly season goes crazy, the end result being one of the Force India drivers at Mercedes and Grosjean at Ferrari 5 - Hulkenberg FINALLY gets a maiden podium 6 - Haryanto crashes out of at least 6 Grand Prix this season 7 - 2 wet GPs this season 8 - Azerbaijan holds a fairly meh maiden Grand Prix and the fans begin complaining 9 - The Verstappen hype fades a little as his performances are less eye catching and as Kvyat begins to match/beat Ricciardo more regularly 10 - The US GP runs its last race at Austin in 2016 11 - Force India claim at least 4 second row starts Last but not least 12 - McLaren score 3 top 5s this season |

1. Hamilton picks up the WDC
2. Mercedes wins the manufacturers trophy 3. Haas will score a decent amount of points during the season... 4. ...and they will score their first this weekend 5. Ericsson finally stops doing his random mistakes and outperforms Nasr overall (hey, I'm biased ok?) 6. Red Bull goes back to victory lane, with Riccardio winning a race 7. Verstappen finds his way onto the podium at some point 8. Vettel will win several races for Ferrari, while Raikkonen doesn't 9. Rosberg will finally snap and leave Mercedes at the end of the season and of course, my usual prediction: 10. Someone will flip his car By the way, since someone asked here is the 2015 time capsule: http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143734 |

Well a few of my picks may be a bit out there. You can’t win big if you play the favorites!
1. Nico Rosberg will win the WDC 2. Sebastian Vettel will be second in WDC standings 3. Lewis Hamilton will be third in WDC standings (!) 4. Nico and Lewis will have at least one collision that takes one or both cars out. 5. Mercedes will win the WCC. 6. Financial drama will inflict Force India seriously enough to have items seize during a race weekend. 7. Rio Haryanto will crash out of at least three races and non-crash DNF in another three. 8. Manor will not score points. 9. Haas will lose significant points in at least one race due to a significant pit snafu. Such as being in top five and then choke. 10. Haas will score points. 11. Haas qualifying and race performance will be erratic. 12. Kimi will retire at end of season. 13. McLaren will not be on the podium 14. McLaren will see some improvement at the start of the season, but not much. 15. McLaren will have a late season revival. 16. At some point Red Bull will revert to type and blame Renault for its problems. 17. This forum will continue to be dominated with “X, Y and Z is wrong with F1” threads. Richard |
