Downforce Coefficient of F1 car
Ok can any technically minded person help me out:
" 1. Averaging the downforce coefficients and downforce/drag ratios calculated by Enrico Benzing for a 750bhp car in Giorgio Piola's _Formual_1_Technical_Analysis_2000_ book: 1606 kg, 2.95 respectively. i.e. Downforce Coefficient=1606 kg Downforce/drag ratio =2.95 " That is for a 750 hp car. What is the Downforce Coefficient and Downforce(or -lift)/Drag ratio of a modern, 2000-2002 F1 car? Downforce Coefficient=? Downforce/Drag ratio =? Come on somebody must know this... 2. " Usenet posting from 1992: Full race slicks such as those used b Indy cars and F1 may generate a slip angle of only 1-2 degrees, whereas a street tire may generate 15-20 degrees. " What is the slip angle now? i.e. 2000-2002 Come on guys... |

Re: Downforce Coefficient of F1 car
seriously...the answers you are looking for could only be calculated using physics. I have the formula but i doubt you'll be able to sort it out as you need to know whats the density of the air, the frontal area, the velocity and mph to get the drag in pounds/kilos of force.

Nope! All you need to do is go through your old collection of F1 magazines,... HAHAHAHAHHA! I FOUND IT!
From racetech oct 1998: "Aerodynamics: Before the Ayrton Senna tragedy of 1994 led to a succession of measures which progressively reduced downforce, F1 cars generated in the region of 4000lbs of downforce at 165mph in Monaco trim. In low downforce trim at Monza the cars were producing something approaching 4000lbs at 200mph. The lift(read:downforce)/drag ratio was as good as 4:1. This year (1998) in Monaco trim Formula one cars are producing around 3000lbs downforce at 165 mph. At 200mph at Monza they are generating in the region of 2500lbs. At best the lift:drag ratio is something like 2.75:1 " All we need now is 2000-2002 data, COME ON GUYS check your Racetechs!!!! Waht you want! Bube I gohot it!, What U need? Bube I ... |
