There will be no homologation for VW and Audi for ETCC, and they withdrew Seat homologation. |

This is quite incredible. Good on VAG, screw the FIA. I suppose the typical ETCC entrants could enter European TCR rounds and/or TC Open.

But as a loophole FIA could create a class for cars that comply to TCR rules. Or am I missing something?

Wow, that's shooting yourself in the foot with damn good aim.
I mean, if I wanted to develop the FIA ETCC, I'd try to get as many cars allowed as possible. This is exactly the opposite. I'm pretty sure Lotti won't mind this FIA's decision. |

I've said this before, but I can't see TCR and the WTCC co-existing in the long term. Even if they do, it'll be as damaging to the category as the CART/IRL split.

Can't see how WTCC would survive. Are there any other championships that have those cars?

Not that I know of. Sensible settlement needs to be reached, and soon.

VLN is the only series (beside WTCC) where a TC1 car was entered...

Ach so.
Which team/car was this? If I remember well Honda entered a VLN race but wasn't that a TCR car? |

I think I've found the race car that Tarquini and Monteiro entered in 2014 (VLN 23/08/14). It definitely isn't a TC1 (it isn't even turbo charged).
Sorry if you meant a different race. This was all a quick search pulled up. |

Just found an article that did enter the TC1 car but the race was cancelled.
