I'm not sure what the idea behind the #31's strategy was... I can't even come up with a bizarre instance that would have made that work.

Even that doesn't make sense.... the others had a short fuel as well, since their tanks were still pretty full from the FCY around the 1h mark.

In road racing (outside of the WEC at least because of how they still do the VSC/FCY and LM because of track length), it's usually an advantage to pit first because of track position. Why AXR still did what they did knowing the conventional wisdom of what I said still baffles me. Seems like a hail Mary that had no chance of working.
