Three Sisters Circuit closes!

Three Sisters is/was a kart circuit, big enough to be used for testing, tarmac rallies and other events. And it has just gone bust! See: http://www.wigantoday.net/news/shock...oses-1-8523074

For many, and not just karters, this will be a great disappointment.

That's a shame. I once drove an XJS round there and finished off a set of tyres!

I'm not sure this is accurate.
AIUI it's the Race School that's gone bust and the circuit is open as usual - the rally the weekend after next is confirmed as going ahead and is still taking entries. More info on various fb groups....

Shame about the race school, but that's not so bad.

Jim
that's the same link quoted in post #1, as I said, fb comments counter it.
My thoughts are purely on the balance of probability who is more likely to be right, the Secretary of Wigan Motor Club or some hack on a local paper?

The circuit leaseholders are apparently looking for another contractor to run the circuit operation. As all the existing circuit staff were employed by the Race School and are therefore out of work, I imagine for normal operations it will remain closed - Wigan's rally could be covered by its own marshals, so may well be able to go ahead.

The circuit land is actually owned by the local council, I believe?

Josiah Foulston

That name creeps into view again, wasn't he the guy that was running BSB years ago? Related to Nicola

Josiah? Josiah!! Image of moustachio twirling, top hatted mill-owner, grinder of the faces of the poor from some Victorian melodrama!

I am sure that when he was involved in BSB he was called Joshua! Maybe he just was a Jos.

Shame for the little track, was a great venue for rallies, sprints and things lie supermoto.

ASwell as karting obviously
