With joust four FIA WEC races, many drivers are looking to add IMSA races.
However, the Fiji round clashes with Petit Le Mans... |

Do remember that it is the FIA WEC. Their first priority is probably to avoid direct clashes with F1, or at least to try to avoid having a WEC and F1 race in the same region on the same weekend.
So, (up to now) you have Spa, Monza, Singapore, Suzuka, Austin, and Mexico City on the one hand. On the other you have (up to now) Mexico City, Austin, Fuji, Shanghai, and Bahrain. There's only so many weekends in that time frame. Also, I'm guessing both series are trying NOT to have Fuji/Suzuka quite so late, because that far north, you start losing light rather earlier as you get on into later dates. I'm not saying I like it, but the FIA might have some reasons that aren't total BS for why they do certain things. |

That's not the advanced sale price, it's the super special only for this week sale price. "Normal" advanced sales for the 12 hr. run through the end of February.

We could see DPI/LMP2 full season entries running between 15-20 cars in 2018. If GTLM and GTD remain the same as they are this year as I think they will. IMSA should look to start running split class races at places like CTMP, Mid Ohio, and Laguna Seca.

Not the case. In 2014, CTMP did not run LMPC and did not run GTD in 2015. Laguna Seca ran split events in 2014 and 2016. Those are 2 of the tracks I mentioned in my previous post. The 3rd is a new track for the united series: Mid Ohio.

'17 Laguna race full IWSC grid (all classes) no split '18 Mid Ohio = 2.4 mile track > we'll see the full IWSC field. Atherton has repeatedly stated that split races will only occur where it has to and that IMSA does not want to split the grid. An expansion of split races is not on the horizon! L.P. |

I am sure that Lime Rock, Long Beach and Detroit, as long as the remain on the schedule will be 'split' races.
VIR may see a full grid at some point L.P. |

As I've said elsewhere, I hope the P cars do make a return to VIR. I'm glad they plan to keep splits to a minimum.
I would expect IMSA to use the 2.258-mile layout, which straight-lines the first part of the Keyhole, as has been standard practice for IMSA, ALMS, GA, IndyCar, etc. since the new option became available in 1990. |
