2017 6 Hours of Fuji
This weekend's race is at Fuji Speedway, Japan. It's also Toyota's home track, literally, in the shadow of the majestic Mt. Fuji for which it's named.

NEWS FLASH- It seems qualifying has been moved up by 30 minutes because of more threatening weather forecast for later today.

All of this rain should suit GTLM Porsche's. 1-2 in FP1 and FP3. 2-3 in FP2.

Found a stream, not sure if I should post. PM me if you can't find one for qualifying that's live now. Heavy fog, it's like they're driving in a cloud, this is awesome stuff.

Is there some kind of falling out between ten tenthers and Japan that I'm not aware of?
F1 in Suzuka got 3 pages (which is unusual for an F1 race). Fuji wasn't even going to get a thread! Maybe it's time zone. |

Must be. It's too early in the morning over there in Europe. At least it would be for me!

Buemi balked by the #38. That probably cost him his shot at pole.

This was supposed to be a race which would suit Toyota's HD package, but it seems Porsche has a little advantage in the wet conditions.
I was praying for the rain in Mexico, now I wish it would be dry But anything can happen in the rain, and it could depend on tire strategy and luck as always. |

You'd actually think that with that front straight (at least in the dry) that Toyota should have an edge. But not since Toyota payed Tilke to butcher the place to get F1 to race there.
Now it's like Paul Ricard where in terms of lap time low or high downforce work, with teams favoring high downforce due to tire concerns. |

Looks like Buemi was caught out by the Porsche he was following on his first flyer. Then his attempt to better it he ran up to the #38 on the final turn. Only a couple tenths were between the two teams. So I think it'll be a good race. In GTE it looks like Porsche has the upper hand but Ford is still within striking distance.

Hoping for a Toyota victory here. Wet will make it fun. No idea who'll win in LMP2. I really like Jota, but I hope they struggle a little just to close up the title battle a bit.

I picked Rossiter's car in lmp2 because he's a Super GT/Formula regular and knows Fuji very well. Watch for his stints in the #26 car to see if that makes a difference!

It's midday here in Australia so for once I'll be able to watch the whole race without my body bludgeoning me to sleep
Looking forward to the race |

Porsche seems to have about 1 second/lap advantage now.

I thought about getting up at 6 but I watch from the start - 4 CET.
If the race would end like this they will get full or half points ? |

Probably because they either expect Porsche dominance or this to be a short race with the rain.

If cars take the green flag and make at least two green laps, they get half points if the race is aborted before 75% distance. After 75% they get full points.

I guess half points is enough for Porsche.

I also think this was also the first time a slow zone was used outside of Le Mans for a WEC race since forever it seems.
