Noise reduction
I am building a Hillclimb car using a V8 two stroke which emits 145db with open exhaust. I am told that a turbo charger in the exhaust will reduce noise levels? Any one with any knowledge?

You are building a V8 2 stroke!!! And the only way you can think to quieten it down is to add a turbo!!
I think April the 1st was earlier in the month chap!! |

Built a lot of Mufflers for two strokes. You should be able to get a set (or a pair) of mufflers made up no problem. They are not hard to make. Even the most noisiest two stroke on a bad day came in at 98db. It's all about the length - packaging requirements etc. Shorter Mufflers are more noisy. A 4 cylinder Yamaha-Krauser that reved to over 20k from Side-car then fitted into a Speedway car was the hardest to quiet down because of packaging problems, took me two sets of Expansion Pipes and Mufflers before he made the 94-95db. Anyway I can guide you thru it if you want to have a crack at making some up.......
