As pleasing as they were to watch back then, would you like to see them race again in a series..Or are they just ablast from the past ?

I must say I enjoyed them immensely but things do move on.
Do any still race anywhere?

I think if this were switched to another forum ('national and club') you'd get a better response, as I'm positive several of the cars competed until fairly recently 750MC and hillclimbs.

They were good fun and there was plenty of crash 'n' bash.

Plato, Eaves and Priaulx. All were champions, remember.

How about Plato v Julian Westwood in the Spiders' inaugural season of 1996? And Eaves, in '98, believing he'd lost all hope of the title when his motor conked out at Brands, stealing it back at the last round at Silverstone. Nick Hart led the series going into the race, but was punted off by title outsider Jamie Hunter. Dan not only won the race, but made sure of the title with pole position and fastest lap. Hunter took second in the championship but was later excluded from the final points table.

Then, of course, there was a terrific Euopean series for the cars. Rustad and Lagorce's battle at the British GP in '97 particularly stands out. There was also a memorable jaunt by several British competitors - Stephen Baber, James Aspinall and Tony Slade - out to Le Mans to take part in the European championship's 24 Hours support race - on the full circuit. Imagine the head-on view of 50 Spiders creeping and crawling towards you down Mulsanne. If I recall rightly, that was the year Dan Eaves was nearly nabbed by the gendarmerie at about 2am for standing in an illegal area. A chase ensued through the woods and he fell into a cess tank of sorts. But they didn't catch him! They probably didn't care to go near him after that ...

There are a few Spiders racing in the 750MC's Roadsports class this year, I think.
