Alonso, started from pit road and finished a very creditable 8th.

Max. Plenty of Kudos for a great result for Romain and Kevin.

Max for me. I also considered Valtteri because he was performing above his norm all weekend until his Merc let him down. Then Lewis because he would probably have won the race if it weren't for the self-confessed strategy error and the broken car. Then Fred, who started from the pitlane, initially seemed stuck in 23rd and demoralised, then suddenly popped up in the points.

Different story if you are leading and controlling the pace. He would not have had dirty air and with overtaking still being very hard he would not have needed to push as much.

Max, great first lap, then once he got the lead, controlled race at front to perfection

Grosjean. Got the result Haas have been threatening for a while. There was always the nagging doubt that somehow Romain would find a way to throw it away in an amusing manner but he didn't - so gets my vote as a reward.
(Yes I'm aware that technically means I've just voted someone as 'driver of the day' in Formula 1 for not crashing - but hey what the heck ) |

probably should also go with Max but i went for Kimi.
if he was fully out of the window at Ferrari for 2019 i would have expected Ferrari to have no qualms about issuing a team order...but they didnt and Kimi beat his team mate. in his own way, i think this is Kimi fighting for his seat so good on the old man! |
