Menu was runner up too may times, had he won those championships he would of been more suceesful than Andy Rouse! But still, he was the only driver to ever win the championship in the Super Touring period twice.

tempted to put Cleland just because of his enthusiasm and commitment but i reckon it was Aiello, he just came in and blasted the pack away.

... or where he stuffed the Mondeo big time in Donington's TOCA Shoot-out of '93, and blamed Tiff Needell?
As the masses came running down the bank, fearing as ever for their hero's wellbeing, back in the Ford garage the radio cackled into life: "I ... I think I'm unconcious ..." The again, what other BTCC meeting packed out the spectator banks at the Old Hairpin or took over an hour to get in? Each of the champions was superb. |

Rickard Rydell was by far the best driver. Menu was not as skilled and rydell could transform a tank into a proper race car (Credit to volvo also)

In a competive car and a full year there is no doubt he would have been a title contender. |

part of his 1987 Production Saloon Car Team when he won both championships that year. I remember beating all the works teams by minutes not seconds !! His natural progression to the BTCC came after 5 months of driving the RS Ford Cosworth. I think many will agree who can remember those were the most exciting years in motor racing. In fact I know that it was those years that got BTCC of the ground. Can anyone remember 1987-1990 ? |
