Oh please ,allow me to pick myself up from the floor from laughing. First point a Lotus 19 and Lotus 20 are SOMEWHAT different The Minos was constructed in the UK using a Birrana tub chassis no 006. When the Minos returned to Australia in 1976 Bob and Marg Brown sold the car [ less motor]through their agent Malcom Ramsay to Bernie Zampatti of Western Australia. The Minos was log booked on the 24th 9th 1976, log book number w172/76. Bill Downey purchased the Minos from Bernie Zampatti on 11th 3rd 79. Ross Zampatti purchased the car from Bill on 21st 4th 1982. Ross crashed the car , however many parts including suspension wheels ,some of the tub including the chassis plate body panels and sundry parts are alive and reside in Western Australia

Can anyone shed any light on what happened when Brock sold the car to Bernie Zampatti in WA. It disappears, can find no record of it racing at Wanneroo.

The Brock car was originally built for Tony Stewart/Paul England before Brock purchased the car. It then went to Zampatti who ran it with a Waggot 2 Litre. It was then sold to Bob Creasy then to Rick Purvis. I bought the car from Purvis and statrted the resto, abeit slowly. I was starting a new business and sold the car to Bruce Mactier around 1989/1990. It appeared at a Phillip Island Historic meeting a few years later. I beleive it was then sold back to the Zampatti's.

Sorry for being so confusing Camaroz, its the 272- 002 I'm asking about.

The 273 008 is in WA & is/was on display in the motor museum at Whiteman Park.

Cavvy Ross bought it back for his dad for his 80th birthday.

Bernie did run it again at a tuning day or a regularity day.

Any idea why Bernie didnt ever race the car after buying it from Brock?

Thought it was about time I added a little more information to the Birrana chassis list just to clear up a misconception. The Birrana 374 , chassis # 014 was bought and paid for by Lew Wade in 1974 for me Paul King to race in both Formula 3 classes and a few formula 2 races.( of which we won a few f2/f3 races. It was never driven by Lew Wade as he was the owner and sponsor with me as his driver. The car was totalled at Amaroo late in 1975 and declared unrepairable by Malcolm and Tony the builders. I am not sure but I think Jack Klaver bought it from me while Lew was overseas and who wanted to restore it if possible, which I assume is what happened. Records show that it had many owners after Jack Klaver and many changes in body , engines, etc. and was running as an F2 during the 80's. At one point it was fitted with a Cheetah body with side pods etc. I have spoken with the current owner ( February 2019) who is in a mammoth restoration process after successfully racing it for a number of years in various guises and engines.
