One aspect of this particular subject that might be worth a mention is that those of us who are privileged enough to get trackside are the lucky ones. I post pictures on the Forum for the benefit of those who cannot take their own, and any link to a web site is for that purpose only. I suppose it could be seen as advertising - but if it is ..............it is a complete waste of time

It feels bit silly to comment here, since the time window for this topic is over eight years. Last edited by BudLightJaguar; 17 Aug 2014 at 15:57. |

Might actually breath some life into this forum if people would post photos of events they attended. I don't see what's wrong with one central topic per race or championship season and only a couple of photos with a link for more.

In the current situation, yes it might bring this forum back alive. With few exceptions, forum has been a bit down for weeks.
The problem was originally that folks uploaded tons of photos in their original size to the original message and some minority even aggressively promoted their services or portfolio. And when you try to draw a line, there's always a risk that somebody with common sense and non-commercial intentions misunderstands the message and feels his/her pics are not welcome. Though the purpose was only to limit the amount of teaser pics to four and ask to provide a link to the rest. |

Ok, regarding uploads and attachments, these are enabled in this forum, with a maximum of 6 per post which will automatically have thumbnails added.
Given the advances in cameras, computers, screen resolutions etc. I have increased the acceptable image dimensions and file sizes that the site will accept. For jpg images we now support a maximum dimension of 4096 and a file size of 3Mb. Any feedback on this would be appreciated. |

I would say that is more than adequate to show off the photos.

When Mallory Park was rumoured to be closing in 1983 to become a housing estate, I took this picture of one of their old vans parked at the circuit. I thought it just about summed the whole thing up.
