Max Biaggi signs three year deal to ride RC211V with Pramac
Italian engineering giants Pramac have announced an agreement between themselves, HRC and Max Biaggi which will see the Italian ride a Honda RC211V for the next three seasons. Pramac made the announcement in Rio on Thursday, as they come to the end of their first season in MotoGP with Tetsuya Harada riding an NSR500.
`My company wants to invest in racing because we believe in the spirit that gives life to competitions,´ declared Pramac CEO Paolo Campinoti. `I am very happy to announce that we have achieved an important agreement with Honda and HRC for having in my team the four time 250cc World Champion Max Biaggi. We will stay together for three years.´ Biaggi, meanwhile, echoed the enthusiasm shown by his new employers: ´I was dreaming of racing with Honda again and Pramac made my dream come true,´ he said. `I have the enthusiasm and willing of a little boy. I can´t wait to start this new adventure. Honda is one of the most prestigious factories in the whole world and I´ll find a lot of old friends there. |

Will Max be taking some of his Marlboro sponsorhip with him, considering that Marlboro are already signed on to sponsor Ducati?
Also, what is happening to Harada? Are Pramac expanding to a two-bike team, or is Harada once again left out in the cold? I hope Harada stays on as he's never really had a decent bike under him in the top class - he was always on an underpowered Aprilia, and he's had no hope this year on a 500... |

It was always going to be Harada's last year.
At the start of the eyar he said that unless his contract was for a million $ he would retire. So i guess Pramac came up with the dough (a waste seeing as thou he is on a 2 stoke) he did give them a front row start a few races back. I quite like Harada myself, and him retiring in one peice (and some cash in his pocket) is a nice way to go. |

Good to see Max on a competitive bike.
Is Pramac the old Shell Advance team? |

Yes, I believe it is (was?) run my Jeff Hardwick an australian and former shell advance.
But i haven't heard his name for a while now. That team was always a bit strange, i doubt if anything resembling Shell Ad. is left. Biaggi will certainly take care of that, he has had a habit of sacking entire staff. |

Well I still don't think that he can beat Rossi, and the Yamaha is competitive.

Do we think Biaggi is very happy with this deal, or did he have to settle for it after he left Yamaha and found that there wasn't that much out there that is better than a factory Yamaha.

Honestly, I think Biaggi was an idiot for leaving Yamaha.

Biaggi is technically looking for a Honda team. Looks like he might be sitting in the sidelines if no team is found. What was he thinking.

Knowledgeable sources say that Honda came to Colin Edwards II at Imola last weekend and offered him a salivating possibility for 2003.
Edwards has signed a letter of intent with Ducati for 2003, not a formal contract. Now Honda are reputed to have offered Colin Edwards the seat he yearns for the most: a factory RC211V on Michelin tires. It is thought that Honda's current offer to Edwards is to team with Max Biaggi on the Pramac Honda squad for 2003. |
