MattC should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
1977 BMW 530i with 3.9L six

I would think this kind of car would outperform, and feel better than the M5 from the '80s. More torque from a large 2 valve motor for real world driving. If you look at the video of Chris Harris' M5 he shows how he has to cane it to make it move. It comes on strong, but the low end is sleepy.
