1988 Sandown Enzed 500

Just been watching the DVD with covers Moffats last race victory in Australia at the 1988 Enzed 500, little intrigued why the ABC did the broadcast that year?

Just love the OHS at that time, people wandering in and around the cars on pit lane as they transit at speed.

Would anyone have ciruit diagram from that event?

Guessing the ABC broadcast the event because no one else wanted to.

ABC traditionally did the Sandown enduro nearly year from the mid-70s until 1991. The only ones they missed were 1982, 1987 and 1989 which were shown on Channel 7

The Light Car Club and the ABC had a close association in the '70's and 80's with more Sandown events being telecast by the ABC than any other channel.

I think Ch7 only had the rights to the ATCC and Bathurst anyway, and AMSCAR.

Ch7 did a lot of Calder race meetings in the early 80s, AGP, Group E Super Series, Sports Sedans from there and AIR etc

Even after 7 took over the ATCC TV deal from the ABC in 1985, the ABC still showed multiple touring car events each year, mainly enduros, until the late 80s
