Good Lord, that was a surprise. Yup, a bit behind here, just watched the 6 get more work started.

Great drive by Helio.
Mazda blew it. |

Great pass by Farnbacher, but apparently Bell re-passed.

I think the national broadcast TV window dictated the restart ... even so, not v=badly managed considering. I'd say by and large the deserving cars won.

Holy s**t did anyone else see the #10 nearly crash into the safety crew at the kink after the chequered flag?

I don't feel so much that Mazda threw it away as much as Red Bull earlier in the day. And even they didn't fully throw it away. Mazda made their pitstops on time, and it immediately started raining. They could have stopped again, and would have ended up in the exact same spot. Parts of the track were looking slick friendly right after the red flag.
I was glad to see an Acura take it if it wasn't a Mazda. WTR had the luck of being able to pit right after a downpour started, but the Cadillacs just weren't the fastest. Both GT leaders getting caught out within the last few seconds of the race. Tough to see, but C'est 'la racing. |

Yeah, they aren't allowed to and restarted it quickly after that. The rules don't allow the stoppage and it's bs that they did. It's fairly clear, it's a timed event full stop, that's it, that's all.

Interesting despite the lack of pace all year by the caddys, they are first and second in the drivers championship! What a heck of a finish in all classes, and even after they threw the final yellow I wasn't sure the order was set. I thought somebody was going to lose it in those horrid conditions. |

I love how no one has been bothered by the fact the rules actually allow the fitment of tires with their ruling without burning 22 min circling the track to get back to the stupid pit orders. I turned it off after they decided to burn the entire 30 min restart sprint that's not in the rules. Whoever wins should just shut up and pack up. Mazda and Bamber won before the dumbass rule about pitting destroyed the race not the timing.

1. Great to see a big crowd at Road America. From what I saw on TV looked liked normal crowd we see at RA every year. Well deserved for everybody who attended who saw a great race too. BroadRun96 probably did not like that part though.
2. Loved the last 10 minutes in the rain. Always makes things unpredictable. I thought the #24 BMW and the #86 Acura had the races won. Both spun on the last lap. Incredible stuff. This is one of things that makes sportscar racing just the best.. I bet BroadRun96 did not like this part either. 3. Glad to see Helio CastroNeves have have a good race. Dame Cameron not so much. 4. Lexus are just crazy dominant. The story of the Weathertech series so far has to be the performance of the AIM Vasser team. side note..the 1 Lexus at the GTWC Imola race ran strong with an all silver driver lineup. Imagine if it had team of all pros like Hawksworth, etc it would have contended for victory. Bummer though that Lamborghini, Audi, Porsche, Aston Martin are struggling. 5. #18 Oreca in LMP2 gave us a memory trip to the LMPC class |
