Formula 1 Las Vegas
http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/liberty-eyes-night-f1-race-in-las-vegas-851146/
F1 has been to Las Vegas before, in the form of the Caesar's Palace Grand Prix. But now today, it seems as though the likelihood of Vegas returning to Sin City in the near future has increased, in the form of a potential night race. But what would the circuit look like? I'm going to leave that to you guys. However, it is highly rumoured that it will take place along the spectacular Las Vegas Strip. I don't mind if your proposal isn't on the Vegas Strip, but it's more likely that the race would be located there. I'd love to see your creative ideas! |

They could use the infield of the LV speedway, that would be good

Las Vegas Street Circuit
Coordinates: 36° 7'21.69"N, 115°10'12.13"W.
Here is a potential layout for an Formula 1 street circuit in Las Vegas I made a while back. It contains 20 turns, is 3.62 miles in length, is run in a clockwise direction and blasts along S Las Vegas Strip Blvd (also known as The Strip). Cars will pass many of Vegas' most spectacular hotels, including The Venetian, Palazzo, Caesar's Palace, Mirage and Treasure Island, as well as encompassing the Fashion Show Mall. It's even been designed so that the course goes through the main entrance to The Venetian, and through a tunnel under the hotel's parking lot (Turns 10 to 13). Here is a guide to the layout in more detail: Start/Finish: Adjacent to The Westin Casuarina. Head west along right-hand side of the road on E Flamingo Road (pits and paddock on the left). 500 metre run to T1 (1 of 3 DRS zones). T1 to T2: Head north on The Strip along the Southbound carriageway for around 1.2km of full throttle. Another DRS zone, main overtaking spot. T2 is a sharp left onto Spring Mountain Road. T2-T9: Encompass Fashion Show Mall, going along Mel Torme Way, Sammy Davis Jr. Blvd and Fashion Show Drive before a 90° right back onto The Strip. T9-T10: Head south on The Strip along the Northbound carriageway. Sharp left at 10 to The Venetian's grand entrance. This 650m straight is the last DRS zone. T10-T13: Passes the grand entrance at Venetian before a left-hander (T12) takes cars under the car park. A tight hairpin at 13 follows at the tunnel exit on Krueger Drive. T13-T16: Very sharp and low-speed sequence of corners, comparable to some tighter corners on circuits such as Monaco. T16-T18: Accelerate out of 16 on Linq Lane before joining Winnick Avenue through two high speed left-handers (turns 17 and 18), passing under part of the Las Vegas Observation Wheel (or High Roller). T19-T20: The last two corners are both 90° rights. Turn 19 takes us onto Kovak Lane and the final corner (turn 20) takes us back onto E Flamingo Road and the Start/Finish straight. |

I think that might be next to where the old Palace car park was, before it got built over

Nothing has been decided on when it will be held. In fact, it's a case of "if" rather than "when" at this point in time, as Liberty Media looks to be keeping their options open in terms of which US city should stage a future race (some of the articles below talk about New York and Miami, two key examples of this). Another article (bottom) suggested that it was being looked at for this season, but that obviously hasn't happened.

Looking at this thread, I didn't know it took time for a track to be approved.
