Yeah, they keep looking bad but circling the track. The modeling shows them going away but could be interesting
That cloud at the end of the back stretch looks nasty, can't tell which way it's moving |

Matt Campbell will be a big beneficiary of this safety car period. GTD should not be affected other than the bunch up. I think they all just pitted for the pro driver changes. And this is the when the Lexus usually fall off...yeah I think the Lexus "pro" drivers have been poor.

I just turned it on and they had a really wild picture from yesterday's practice where rain was only on half of the front straight and you were straight going into a wall of water!

This race is about to become shorter than the Detroit and the Daytona Q race were....red flag.
Did Corvettes pit yet? |

Ah, the red flag again. But given those clouds and lightning makes sense

Not sure I've ever seen a race red flagged due to weather forecast with cars entering the dry pitlane on slicks.

My question is do they have a minimum time after a lightning strike if I have to wait to restart? I know it's like that with football games stateside but I don't know if that extends to imsa racing

I would guess they would use the same insurance concerns and likely track the storms and minimum distance and time standards by the state requirements for outdoor activities |

Mazda also does not have headlights, that's going to be an issue

Please, nobody sneeze in the general direction of Watkins Glen, or we'll never restart at this rate!
They're sending a Cayenne to do a whole lap at 20km/h to pick up a piece of debris a few meters away from the paddock (no one there to hop over the fence to pick it up?). Could have been a gold cart, I suppose. It's like IMSA are actively looking for ways to prevent racing until the final 25 minutes. They should switch to 25-minute sprints races and save everyone the trouble. |

If you can't understand the reasons why that is please don't comment. NO ONE IS BEING ALLOWED ON THE TRACK WITHOUT FCY. Please commit that to memory for tracks in the US. It's not happening and your crying like that's a new thing makes you look like a petulant child.
In the last 5 years I believe over 10 corner and track workers have been killer on track trying to clean up debris, get a car in track and other activities. They're not going to change to letting people on again if they want insurance coverage. Without insurance you'll NEVER get volunteers to be trackside and probably not be allowed by state laws. Especially in NY state |

The Lexus just needs more front downforce for cornering I guess. Seems like a train forming behind teammate Veach, and Aston, Audi and MB catching up. Veach can be quick but don't think he's gentle with the car and burns the tires up
4 seconds and Nasr has to do another lap and hope Renger doesn't catch him. Last edited by broadrun96; 3 Jul 2021 at 00:51. |

35 Nasr/Derani, 52 Jensen/Keating, 74 Fraga/Robinson, 3 Garcia/Milner and 14 Hawksworth/Telitz for the wins.
Nice of NBCSN to announce the LMP3 race with the leader well in front and not notice the bright yellow lights off the GTD leader, and the pack 100' behind |

And how this paranoid approach to safety combines with sending a car out of the pitlane with one wheel pointing in the wrong direction less than a week ago at the very same track? The car wobbled around for almost a lap and then stopped out on track. |
